Intel Wifi Link 5100 Agn Hackintosh Virtualbox
Host: Windows 7 64-bit, 8 GB RAM Guest: Debian 9 stretch 64-bit, no guest additions installed, 1 GB RAM Virtualbox: 5.1.26 with corresponding extension pack Host has both an ethernet LAN interface (Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I218-V) and a Realtek wireless interface (2x2 11b/g/n Wireless LAN M.2 Adapter). The Debian 9 guest is configured with 3 network adapters: NAT, host-only network and bridged network. The first two work fine and this post is related to issued with the bridged adapter. When I configure the Debian 9 guest for bridged networking using the Realtek wireless adapter, the guest does not receive an IP address from the router.
However, if I switch to bridged networking using the Ethernet LAN adapter, it works fine. When I use exactly the same guest on a different host (Windows XP 32-bit, Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN wireless adapter, Virtualbox 4.3.2 with extension pack), same local network and router, and define a bridged network using this Intel wireless adapter, the guest is able to receive an IP address from the router using DHCP. I'm puzzled by this and can only imagine this is due to the different wireless adapters used (Realtek vs Intel). Since both hosts are laptops, there's no easy way for me to switch to a different wireless adapter on the Win 7 host.
I have tried reinstalling Virtualbox on the Win 7 host with the NDIS5 driver as well but this had no effect. Is there something I could do to get the bridged wireless network working on my Windows 7 host? Happy to provide more information or debugging data if someone can help. Posts: 1 Joined: 28. ALSO SEE MY SITE! FOR UP TO THE MINUTE REPORTS ON THE PROGRESS OF THE INTEL 5100/5300.
We just recently figured out, if we get the 5100 working 100%, it will also be able to have the 5300 working also, using the same system, just a little kext editing needed, that's it. We'd do it for you, of course and try to make everything automated and easy for all OS X users, newbie or pro. Please visit site for EVERYTHING OSx86. Including details and updates on the progress of the intel 5100 kext/driver.
Also ignore the domain name for now, only one I had left registered, lol. Original comment by lethaldo.@gmail.com on 8 Oct 2009 at 8:39. Added labels:. Removed labels:.UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF DRIVER. I have begun modifying the iwi4965 package installer and kext files, along with network selector.

I got the card to detect as an ethernet card, need to figure out how to change that, lol. Some progress though. Ok i just uploaded a newer test installer package. Make sure to delete the previous iwi4965.kext first. From your extensions folder. Install, when its complete, DO NOT RESTART. Use kexthelper b7, open it, import the modified iwi4965.kext included in zip Tick the advanced box, click kext permissions button on bottom left.
Then install the kext by click easy install at top, dont forget to enter password so the button lights up blue. DO NOT CLICK RESTART YET Wait a minute or less, OS X should warn you it found a new network enterface, click apply. As you'll see, it detects it as an ethernet card.
We need to fix this but play around with things and/or the network selector, ive tried to turn card on but got nothing, neither with scan., we're looking into this heavily. This is a great step forward! Original comment by lethaldo.@gmail.com on 10 Oct 2009 at 7:08. Added labels:. Removed labels:. Attachments:. Thanks for your response John.
I appreciate it and look forward to talking some more. I on the other hand find it feasable as I can try and inject the intel 5100 firmware written by Intel just like project c and iwidarwin have done.
It's just a matter or re-working some things and the only reason im trying this out is because i lost my previous work which pisses me off as it was written from scratch and was on its way to a higher road =( Original comment by lethaldo.@gmail.com on 11 Oct 2009 at 1:54. Added labels:. Removed labels:. @ #38 / Graf Just use windows or OSX86 Tools to find out your wireless cards ven and dev numbers. The ven number is Intels number, which should be 8086, the dev will be different, for instance, the 5100 is 4232, you might be 4233, etc. You'd have to modify the kext included in the.zip file and change 0x42328086 to 0x????8086 replace?' S with your numbers.
Install package included in zip but then delete the iwi4965 out of your extensions folder. Then install the kext YOU MODIFIED into your extensions directory. I can't find many results for AirPortIntel.kext on Google Original comment by rin.@gmail.com on 14 Mar 2010 at 11:05. Added labels:. Removed labels:. Hi guys, Apparently this guy is working on a solution for most intel wifi drivers (5100 series included). According to him (read on his blog) we can expect a working kext in a couple of months.
Blog: Facebook page for more frequent updates: So just be patient. We waited more than a year, im sure we can hold on for a few more months:) Original comment by eliw1.@gmail.com on 11 Jun 2010 at 3:53. Added labels:. Removed labels:. That's great news!
And yes, I'm happy to wait a little longer for a working kext for the 5100 AGN! Although, if people are inpatient I guess they could try a WiFi Adapters like the Dynamode WL-700N-MINI, D-LINK 54M DWL-G122 or DLink DWA-643 Xtreme N ExpressCard? I have considered these myself, but not sure how well they work. If anyone has any experience with any Wifi adapters that work, please share:) Original comment by kennethm.@gmail.com on 14 Jun 2010 at 10:52. Added labels:. Removed labels:.
